Our Six Dog Sleds Head to the Yurts and Back

Paysage au Yukon

Just what we needed to finalize our trip: escape the lodge only to find comfortable installations called yurts. Uncommon Journeys, the company that leads us here, has built a nice camp of four of these Mongolian houses. Yet, no one goes there. An entire valley is all for us!

Indeed, four hours of sledding in Yukon’s wild guarantees you will not cross a single soul. Despite some difficult terrain and snow conditions yesterday, we pulled through. One person per sled was the policy, because of the fast down hills and icy sections.

We celebrated birthdays and chit chatted until late. It was a good last run for us in Canada’s North. Tomorrow we wrap up, more to come.

Check out the photos in the meantime.
