Participants’ Testimonials

Here is a short collection of letters and emails we received from some of our expedition participants.

This is what motivates us to continue what we began over a decade ago: Wilderness therapy! Nearly 20 expeditions have taken place so far with teenagers from several Canadian provinces.

Feel free to leave your own account or comment (or rant, but not on food) at the bottom of the page.

I feel lucky to have been a part of this trip and to have lived new experiences. This expedition made me realize who I am and what I want to change in my life. The people, the food, the landscape and of course everything I learned have all contributed to making this trip the best of my life!

Thank you for everything the Foundation’s staffs have done for us. I miss you much already. I hope that we’ll meet each other soon to celebrate what we’ve accomplished. I wish you the best for future. May your objectives and dreams be realized!

I’m on my flight back home. A little sad, but verry happy at once. I’m going to miss everybody. The trip is now engraved in my memory forever. I love you all and thank you all!

Jeff CliffordI simply wanted to thank you for this wonderful trip. I had a lot of fun. I really appreciated this expedition. I did and saw so much. It was an incredible trip and I made lots of friends. It’s definitely one of my best experiences and I’m sad to see it end.

I nonetheless learned much during this trip and acquired lots of things I’m taking back home. I also learned a lot on the Innu, on nature, and on myself. I’ve accomplished things I thought were impossible. I think I also acquired autonomy. I think it’s the same for the others.

I feel privileged to have participated in this expedition. It’s obvious the Foundation put a lot of effort into organizing this trip. It’s been an incredible expedition. It’s definitely the most beautiful and unique I’ve ever done. You treat us as equals, not as kids… so this letter is to thank you. To you all, I say thank you!

Kyle Bester“Thank you for doing all this. The expedition was a unique opportunity for me, it changed the way I live my life. Since the expedition, not a day goes by without thinking about it. It’s been one of the most beautiful moments of my life and it warms my heart. All teenagers should live an expedition like this.

The trip was therapeutic for me. Each time I’m anxious, I think back to the moments on the river, and feel better. I now know that the best remedy is in nature. I felt so rejuvenated mentally and physically after the trip. Thank you so much. What you do for teenagers is just so awesome. I hope we’ll keep in touch, take care.
